Ah, the good ol' Pledge

Quite obviously the ACLU are a bunch of dirty scum rat bastards, out to fire people up and cause a ruckus.

Unfortunately, with this issue, there IS a "however."

Their issue with the pledge is quite valid, in my opinion, even though their reasoning and methods are dumb. Tyler is perfectly correct in saying that the words "under God" apply to all the major faiths that inhabit this country. Just to refresh, I'll quote the first Amendment, again: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

The fact that Congress made a law respecting any religion whatsoever, even if it IS all of them, is unconstitutional. The ACLU is claiming that it offends Muslims and Jews and Atheists. Fuck that, it should offend anyone that knows the words of the Amendment. Congress and Eisenhower took it upon themselves to insert religion, which one specificly doesn't matter, into our daily lives.

Don't get me wrong, I say the Pledge like I believe everyone should, because I understand and value what the Pledge is ACTUALLY to: Old Glory, our great flag, representing our great nation. Not the president, not the government, our NATION. That is the main thing. But the insertion of religion, which was to fight Communism, by the way, is indeed unconstitutional, though highly inconsequential. You rat bastard ACLU. Pick a better issue to waste money on.

ID'ers and the like need to can it

I'm tired of people arguing intelligent design be taught in school, or that only evolution should be taught, or not taught for that matter. What happened all of a sudden that the whole world will crumble into shambles if someone hears something they don't like. I think it has a little something to do with the evolution of the media and the utilization of that media by several watchdog groups that are "looking out for us".

I'm tempted to go on a violent vendetta against the one group that I always hear crop up in the news to protect "our rights". The good ol' American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU takes every issue that no one really cares about, and makes in controversial. For example, saying under god in the pledge of allegiance is an issue that they are having a field day with. Under God was added to the pledge in 1954 by Eisenhower, the man of the hour himself. He proclaimed "From this day forward, the millions of our school children will daily proclaim in every city and town, every village and rural schoolhouse, the dedication of our Nation and our people to the Almighty." This seems very reasonable to me, and for years there were very few critics of it, and everyone was reasonable happy, but then one day, our friends, the ACLU got a hold of it and decided to make something out of nothing. The leftist media took it and did what they do best, spin and spread only the negative aspects of life.

The main argument the ACLU is using the establishment clause of the 1st ammendment. For those who aren't up to par on there bill of rights, it is:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." But is there argument even valid? First off, the phrase is "Under God", this could apply to any number of all-powerful beings that are worshiped in a wide variety of religions. I'd say the only difference is that the JudeoChristians did not give their God a special name--Allah, Krishna, Buddha--but there purpose is essentially the same to a point. Then people might complain about the atheists. Awww poor atheists.... Atheists only make up .3% of the American population though. Now I'll get to where I was going originally when I started this post.... SUCK IT UP! It is the minute portions of the population like the .3% of atheists that the ACLU are fighting for, and tarnishing the image of America and taking valuable air time away from more useful news.

Since the '70s and the advent of the modern media, things have gotten way out of control. There are so many issues that no one really cares about, the pledge, intelligent design, dress codes, etc. etc. that are just blown way out of prespective, and in the never-ending quest to make everyone happy, slightly retarded organizations like the ACLU just create the entire situation into a shitstorm. Why must the opinion of the majority, be overshadowed by the screeches of the few?

Suck It Up America.

Intelligent Design is pWnEd

Yep, a Dover Judge ruled that teaching ID in public school is illegal and unconstitutional. Suck that you ultra-conservative religious bastards. His writings mentioned ID's total lack of resemblance to anything science.
